How to Make Plain Rasam

  • Soak the tamarind in water.
  • Take a kadai and put 2 tbsp of oil.
  • Put mustard seeds, methi seeds, cumin seeds, channa dal, dry chilli and allow them to splutter and turn light brown.
  • Add the tamarind water. Add turmeric, rasam powder, salt and allow it to boil for 5 min.
  • Add the cut tomatoes and allow it to cook.
  • Put a small piece of jaggery. Garnish with coriander.
