Ingredients

  • 3 cups - cooked Rice
  • 1 cup - finely chopped Raw Mango
  • 1 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1 tsp - Chana dal
  • 1 tsp - split moong dal
  • 6 - Curry leaves
  • 2 tsp - finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp - finely chopped Ginger
  • 3 - dry Red Chillies
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric
  • A pinch of Asafoetida
  • 1 tbsp - roasted cashews
  • 2 tsp - oil
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Plain Raw mango rice:

    1. Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.
    2. Add ginger, channa dal, moong dhal, dry red chillies, asafoetida, turmeric powder, and curry leaves. Saute for 2 mins.
    3. Add the chopped raw mango, required amount of salt and saute for another 2 mins.
    4. Remove from fire and add chopped coriander leaves and roasted cashews.
    5. Mix this with rice and serve hot with papad and raitha.
