  • 1 cup - rava
  • 1 - Onion
  • 2 - Green chillies
  • Curry leaves, a few
  • 8 tsps - oil
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • How to Make Plain Rawa Upma:

    1. In a kadai, put 4 tsps oil and fry the rawa till it changes colour. Remove and keep it aside.
    2. In the same kadai, heat the remaining oil and temper the mustard.
    3. Add chopped onion, chillies, ginger and curry leaves.
    4. Fry till onions are transparent.
    5. Add 2 cups of water along with salt. Bring to boil.
    6. When it starts boiling, slowly add the fried rawa and stir continuously till it is cooked and does not stick to the sides of the pan.
