Ingredients

  • 1 cup - rava
  • 1 - Onion
  • 2 - Green chillies
  • Curry leaves, a few
  • 8 tsps - oil
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard
  • 1/2 tsp - salt

How to Make Plain Rawa Upma

  • In a kadai, put 4 tsps oil and fry the rawa till it changes colour. Remove and keep it aside.
  • In the same kadai, heat the remaining oil and temper the mustard.
  • Add chopped onion, chillies, ginger and curry leaves.
  • Fry till onions are transparent.
  • Add 2 cups of water along with salt. Bring to boil.
  • When it starts boiling, slowly add the fried rawa and stir continuously till it is cooked and does not stick to the sides of the pan.
