Ingredients

  • 10 - Almonds, crushed
  • 10 - Pistachios, unsalted
  • 1/4 cup - Rice
  • 1 liter- Milk
  • 3/4 cup - Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • 5-6 strands- Kesar (Saffron)/ yellow colour

How to Make Plain Rice Kheer

  • Crush the almonds and the pistachios coarsely and keep aside.
  • Then boil the rice in water until half cooked.
  • Now drain the excess water and spread it on a plate. Let it cool.
  • Then boil the milk and add the rice, stirring continuously.
  • Simmer until the rice is tender and well cooked.
  • Then add the sugar, cardamom, saffron, almonds and pistachios.
  • Stir and simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Serve piping hot.
