Ingredients

  • 10 - Almonds, crushed
  • 10 - Pistachios, unsalted
  • 1/4 cup - Rice
  • 1 liter- Milk
  • 3/4 cup - Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • 5-6 strands- Kesar (Saffron)/ yellow colour
  • How to Make Plain Rice Kheer:

    1. Crush the almonds and the pistachios coarsely and keep aside.
    2. Then boil the rice in water until half cooked.
    3. Now drain the excess water and spread it on a plate. Let it cool.
    4. Then boil the milk and add the rice, stirring continuously.
    5. Simmer until the rice is tender and well cooked.
    6. Then add the sugar, cardamom, saffron, almonds and pistachios.
    7. Stir and simmer for 2 minutes.
    8. Serve piping hot.
