Ingredients

  • 4 - tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 - jalapeno pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 - red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - Vinegar (optional: use Lemon juice instead)
  • 1 - onion, finely chopped
  • Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups - water

How to Make Plain Salsa

  • Heat oil, add mustard and splutter.
  • Add the chopped onions and fry till golden brown.
  • Then add the finely chopped jalapeno pepper, red bell pepper and fry well.
  • Then add the finely chopped tomatoes and fry well.
  • Stir occasionally for 5 mins.
  • Then add the lemon juice, salt (as per taste) and chilli powder and stir well.
  • Add water and cook well till it's of a semi-gravy consistency.
  • Store in a dry bottle and refrigerate.
