Ingredients

  • 2 cups - Wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup - Sugar
  • 1 cup - toned Milk
  • 1/4 cup - refined oil
  • A pinch of salt
  • Oil for frying

How to Make Plain Shankarpale

  • Boil milk in a vessel and add sugar and oil. Stir continuously till the sugar is dissolved. Allow this to cool to room temperature.
  • Pour this into a mixture of wheat flour and a pinch of salt and knead it to a dough.
  • After 30 mins, take a small portion of the dough and roll it flat. Cut it into small diamond-shaped pieces.
  • Fry these pieces in refined sunflower oil (on medium heat) to light brown and spread it on a tissue paper to soak excess oil.
