Ingredients

  • 2 cups - split Urad Dal
  • 2 tsp - grated Ginger
  • 3 - Green chillies (chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • Less than a pinch - Asafoetida
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp - vegetable oil
  • How to Make Plain Sukhi Urad Dal:

    1. Soak urad dal for about 2 hours. Cook the dal in a microwave for about 9 minutes by covering the dish with a plate.
    2. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.
    3. After it starts spluttering, add asafoetida, coriander and turmeric powder. Stir for about a minute.
    4. Add ginger, chillies and the dal.
    5. Stir for 5 mins and turn off flame.
