Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Rice
  • 1 cup - Urad Dal
  • 1/2 cup - finely ground Jaggery
  • 1 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • 1/4 tsp - finely ground Nutmeg
  • How to Make Plain Sweet Idly:

    1. Soak jaggery in 1 cup of water till it dissolves, then strain.
    2. Now soak rice and dal separately in water for about 6 hours.
    3. Drain out the water grind separately to a paste.
    4. Mix with jaggery and cover and set in a hot place for 1 hour. Then steam.
    5. Serve with hot ghee poured over the top.
