Ingredients

  • 1 - pomfret, whole.
  • 1/2 cup - Lime juice/vinegar.
  • 4 tbsps - fresh Ginger paste.
  • 4 tbsps - fresh Garlic paste.
  • 2 tbsps - red chilli.
  • 4 - cloves.
  • 4 - cardamom.
  • 1/2 tbsp - Turmeric powder.
  • Salt to taste.
  • oil.
  • Pav.
  • How to Make Pomfret Rachead:

    1. Grind the cloves and cardamoms into a powder and lightly roast it in a pan.
    2. Mix the ginger and garlic paste with lime juice or vinegar thoroughly.
    3. Maintain a thick consistency.
    4. Mix in the chilli, haldi and salt and the roasted powder.
    5. Clean the fish and slice it creating a cavity.
    6. Stuff the paste into the cavity and rub the remaining paste all over the fish.
    7. Let it marinate for 10 mins.
    8. Gently lower the fish into a heated pan with oil and shallow fry till tender.
    9. Serve hot with the paav and wine (optional).
