Ingredients

  • 1 - large Pomfret (slit in the middle)| For rechand masala:
  • 5-6 - large chillies.
  • 1 stick - cinnamon.
  • 1 tsp - cloves.
  • 1 tsp - peppercorns.
  • 1 tbsp - ginger-garlic paste.
  • Goan toddy and Vinegar as required.
  • 1 tsp - jeera.
  • Cooking oil for frying.
  • 2 - medium onions.
  • 2 - medium tomatoes.
  • 1 tsp - Lime juice.
  • Salt to taste.
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder.
  • How to Make Pompfret Fried in Rechad Masala:

    1. Blend all the ingredients for rechand masala.
    2. Add spoonful of Goan toddy while blending to make the mixture thick.
    3. Take oil in a deep frying pan and fry the ground masala.
    4. Add chopped onions and tomatoes to the mixture and fry the mixture till the onions turn deep brown.
    5. Marinade pomfret in lime juice, salt and turmeric powder.
    6. Stuff the fried masala into the slit pomfret and fry it on a low flame.
    7. Spread some leftover rechand masala and serve.
