Ingredients

  • 1 - large Pomfret (slit in the middle)| For rechand masala:
  • 5-6 - large chillies.
  • 1 stick - cinnamon.
  • 1 tsp - cloves.
  • 1 tsp - peppercorns.
  • 1 tbsp - ginger-garlic paste.
  • Goan toddy and Vinegar as required.
  • 1 tsp - jeera.
  • Cooking oil for frying.
  • 2 - medium onions.
  • 2 - medium tomatoes.
  • 1 tsp - Lime juice.
  • Salt to taste.
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder.

How to Make Pompfret Fried in Rechad Masala

  • Blend all the ingredients for rechand masala.
  • Add spoonful of Goan toddy while blending to make the mixture thick.
  • Take oil in a deep frying pan and fry the ground masala.
  • Add chopped onions and tomatoes to the mixture and fry the mixture till the onions turn deep brown.
  • Marinade pomfret in lime juice, salt and turmeric powder.
  • Stuff the fried masala into the slit pomfret and fry it on a low flame.
  • Spread some leftover rechand masala and serve.
