Ingredients

  • Part - I:
  • 1 cup - Rice flour
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • salt to taste

  • 1.5 cup - Jaggery
  • 2 cups - fresh grated Coconut

How to Make Poornam Kozhakattai

  • Put Part
  • ingredients in a microwaveable bowl and microwave on high for 2 mins.
  • If you find it watery, microwave it for 1 more minute.
  • In another microwave dish, mix Part I ingredients well until it forms a dosa - like dough and microwave it in an open bowl for 2 mins. Stir in between
  • Allow it to cool and blend it in a mixer using a soft blade.
  • Blend it until it forms a smooth ball.
  • Now stuff the pooran into the shells made out of rice flour dough and shape into kozhakattai.
  • Steam it in the microwave in an idli plate for 2 mins.
  • Before steaming the kozhakattai, dip it in water.
  • Also after 1 min, sprinkle little water over it to prevent it from breaking.
