  • 3 tbsp - poppy seeds
  • 2 tbsp - Basmati rice
  • 10 - cashew nuts
  • 1 cup - coconut (grated)
  • 1 cup - sugar
  • 2 - cardamom
  • Few saffron strands

How to Make Poppy Seeds Kheer

  • Dry roast poppy seeds, basmati rice until they turn brown.
  • Add the cashew nuts and just roast for few seconds, turn off the stove.
  • Let them cool and grind these roasted seeds, rice and nuts as fine powder.
  • Meanwhile grind the grated coconut, cardamoms with enough water and strain the milk from ground paste, repeat the process for 2or 3 times.
  • Bring boil the coconut milk along with sugar, put the flame in simmer and add the ground powder of poppy seeds, rice and nuts to the simmering milk, add the saffron strands and turn off the stove.
  • Enjoy chilled or warm.
