5 to 6 - medium size potatoes, boiled.
A pinch - turmeric powder.
1 - green chilli, finely chopped.
2 - Coriander leaves finely chopped.
A pinch of chaat masala.
Salt to taste| Seasoning:
1 tsp oil.
1 tsp : Mustard seeds.
1 tsp : Urad dal| For the bonda batter:
One and half cups of Gram flour.
1 tsp - chilli powder.
1 tsp - turmeric powder.
1 pinch - sodium bicarbonate.
One cup - water.
Salt to taste.
How to Make Potato Bondas
Mix all the ingredients of the bonda batter along with water to make a fine paste.
Mash the boiled potatoes with turmeric powder, salt, green chillies, coriander leaves and chaat masala.
Heat a little oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds.
Once it splutters, add the rest of the seasoning.
Once it turns brown in a few seconds, add the potato masala and fry for a few minutes.
Take out the masala and keep aside. After it cools, shape it into small balls and keep aside.
Heat oil in a kadai for deep frying.
Dip the potato masala into the bonda batter and deep fry in the oil for a few minutes.
Once it is fried, take it out of the oil.
Drain the excess oil by blotting it with a tissue paper and serve hot with mint chutney.
