  • 1 kg potato
  • 4 cups Maida
  • 2 tsp chilli powder
  • 2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 4 tbsps butter
  • Oil to deep fry
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Potato chakli

  • Boil the potatoes and mash them well.
  • Tie the Maida in a thin cloth and steam it for 15-20 minutes.
  • Open the bundle and break the lump while hot with a ladle.
  • When it is slightly cooled, powder it with your fingers and sift.
  • Mix the sifted Maida with mashed potato.
  • Add rest of the ingredients except the oil.
  • Add enough water and make a soft but not sticky dough.
  • Take small portions of the dough and flatten them into disc shapes.
  • Fry the Chaklis, in medium heat until they turn golden brown and crisp.
