  • Potatoes 500kg
  • peas shelled 500g
  • 3 tomatoes
  • To grind
  • coriander leaves - 1 medium bunch
  • onions, big - 2
  • garlic - 7 flakes
  • 1/4 tsp -turmeric powder
  • 1.5 tsp - red chilli powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp - sugar
  • 1/4 tsp - garam masala powder
  • For seasoning:
  • 2 tbsp - ghee or oil
  • 1/4 tsp -cumin seeds

How to Make Potato Dhariwala

  • Mash the potatoes.
  • Boil water in a pan, put the whole tomatoes in it and keep aside for few minutes. Then peel the skin and grind tomatoes to smooth paste.
  • Grind the masala using very little water or without water.
  • Heat ghee in a heavy bottom pan, season with cumin seeds and fry the ground masala in medium flame, till the ghee separates from it.
  • Add the tomatoes puree and bring it to a boil. Now add mashed potatoes and peas.
  • Pour enough water and boil for a few minutes.
  • Remove from fire, garnish with cut coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with puris or chapathis.
