Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 2 large.
  • Onion - 2 medium.
  • Ginger chopped - 1 tsp.
  • Garlic chopped - 1 tsp.
  • green chilli chopped - 3.
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp.
  • Coriander powder - 2 tsp.
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp.
  • Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp.
  • Coconut extract - 2 cups.
  • oil - 1/4 cup.
  • Cinnamon sticks - 2 no.
  • Mustard - 1/2 tsp.
  • Curry leaves - 1 sprig.
  • Salt to taste.

How to Make Potato Kootu Curry

  • Cook potatoes separately.
  • Heat oil in a kadai, splutter mustard seeds, add curry leaves.
  • Add chopped onion, green chilli, ginger, garlic, cinnamon sticks and fry till golden brown.
  • Add all powders and put the boiled potatoes in it.
  • Add 2 cups of water and salt to taste.
  • After the gravy becomes thick, add coconut extract and simmer it for 3 mins.
  • Add garam masala powder, stir and serve.
