Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 1/4 kg.
  • green chillies - 2.
  • Ginger - 1 small piece.
  • Grated coconut - 1 tbsp.
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp.
  • Urad dal - 1/2 tsp.
  • Lemon juice - 1/2 tsp.
  • oil - 2 tbsp.
  • Salt to taste.

How to Make Potato Masiyal

  • Boil potatoes, remove skin and mash.
  • Grind green chillies, ginger and grated coconut.
  • Heat a tsp of oil in a pan, add mustard and urad dal and roast lightly.
  • Add ground paste, mashed potatoes and salt.
  • Cook for 5 mins.
  • Serve hot with rotis.
