Ingredients

  • 6 - medium sized potatoes.
  • 3 - large Onions chopped into small pieces.
  • 5 - red chillies.
  • 2 tbsp - Tamarind paste.
  • 2 tbsp - oil.
  • 1 tbsp - salt.

How to Make Potato Saung

  • Boil the potatoes and cut into small pieces.
  • Grind the red chillies with some water and the tamarind to make a paste.
  • Heat oil in a kadai and fry the chopped onions till light brown.
  • Add the potato pieces, salt, and red tamarind paste.
  • Add a little water if too thick and bring to a boil. Let it simmer for 10-15 mins till a thick gravy is formed.
  • Serve with rice or hot phulkas.
