  • 5 - potatoes, big
  • 2 tbsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp - chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - Garam Masala powder
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • Finely chopped Cilantro
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Potatoes in Cumin Masala:

    1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin long strips.
    2. Add salt and transfer to a microwave safe bowl.
    3. Dry roast cumin seeds on a pan for about 30 seconds just so that they turn slightly brownish.
    4. Add chilli powder, cumin seed powder, turmeric and garam masala powder to the potato strips.
    5. Add 1 tbsp oil, toss well and leave for a couple of minutes.
    6. Microwave the mixture at max. temp for at least 4 minutes.
    7. Leave it aside for 2 minutes and microwave again for another 4 mins.
    8. Now the Aloo Jeera is ready to serve.
    9. You can add one more tbsp of oil, cilantro/coriander leaves just before serving and toss the mixture well.
    10. The flavour will be retained.
    11. It can be served with rice, rotis.
