Ingredients

  • Pottukkadalai powder - 1 cup
  • Rice flour - 4 cups
  • Onions - 2 or 3
  • Green chillies - 2
  • Salt to taste
  • Red Chilli powder - 1 tbsp (if necessary)
  • Curry leaves and Coriander leaves
  • Oil to deep fry
  • Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • How to Make Pottukkadalai Bonda:

    1. Cut onions into very small pieces and mix with salt.
    2. Mash the onions well and add pottukkadalai powder, rice flour, finely cut green chillies, curry leaves, coriander leaves, chilli powder and ghee.
    3. Mix everything well and add a little water if necessary.
    4. Make small balls out of this dough and deep fry in oil.
    5. Take it out from oil when it turns into a golden colour.
    6. Serve with coconut chutney.
