Ingredients

  • 1 kg - prawns, cleaned.
  • 1 bunch - Indian red spinach.
  • 1/2 - coconut, grated.
  • 5-6 - red chillies.
  • 1 cup - tur dal.
  • 1 - chopped onion.
  • 1/2 tsp - aniseeds.
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds.
  • 4-5 - Garlic cloves.
  • 1 tsp - coriander seeds.
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder.
  • 4 tsp - Tamarind juice.

How to Make Prawn and Indian Red Spinach Curry

  • Cook tuvar dal and red spinach in the pressure cooker up to 3 whistles and keep aside.
  • In a pan, fry onion, grated coconut, aniseeds, garlic, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and grind in the mixer till finely ground. Add turmeric and tamarind juice.
  • Put this mixture in a vessel, pour the dal and spinach.
  • Add the fresh, cleaned prawns and cook for 15 mins.
  • Serve hot with chapattis or steamed rice.
