Ingredients

  • 300 g - small prawns.
  • 50 g - rice.
  • 1/2 cup - masoor dal.
  • 50 g - moong dal.
  • 5 to 6 - green chillies.
  • 2 - sliced onion.
  • 2 tsp - Jeera (whole).
  • 1/2 tsp - ginger-garlic paste.
  • 1 tsp -haldi.
  • Garam Masala powder.
  • 1 - tomato.
  • 1 tsp - sugar.
  • 1 tbsp - ghee.
  • Salt to taste.
  • How to Make Prawn Khichdi:

    1. Dry roast the dal in a pan till golden brown. Wash it once done.
    2. Mix it with rice and cook it in a large vessel with some water.
    3. In another pan, heat 3 tbsp mustard oil, add jeera, onions, green chillies, garam masala, prawns, and cook till brown.
    4. Add ginger-garlic paste, tomato, haldi, sugar, salt.
    5. Cook for some time and pour the mixture into the rice, which is cooking.
    6. Cook till the mixture is semi-liquid and dal is soft.
    7. Add the ghee and serve hot.
