  • Prawns - 10
  • Flour - 1/4 cup
  • Gram Flour (Besan) - 1/2 cup
  • Onion - 1 large or 2 small ones
  • Green Chillies - 4 (depends on individual preference)
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Salt - as required
  • Tomato Sauce - 1 tsp
  • Soya Sauce - 1 tsp
  • Baking Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Oil - for deep frying

How to Make Prawn Pakodas

  • Shell the prawns and de-vein them. Cook in a little salted water till it is slightly hard or till you feel it is properly done.
  • Remove and drain the excess water and chop into small pieces.
  • Similarly, chop the onions and green chillies into tiny pieces.
  • Mix all the ingredients, and add enough water to make a thick batter - of dropping consistency.
  • Heat oil in a kadai and drop in spoonful of the batter to make pakodas.
  • Remove when the pakodas turn golden brown.
  • Serve hot with tomato sauce and mint chutney.
