Ingredients

  • Prawns - 10
  • Flour - 1/4 cup
  • Gram Flour (Besan) - 1/2 cup
  • Onion - 1 large or 2 small ones
  • Green chillies - 4 (depends on individual preference)
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Salt - as required
  • Tomato Sauce - 1 tsp
  • Soya Sauce - 1 tsp
  • Baking Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Oil - for deep frying
  • How to Make Prawn Pakodas:

    1. Shell the prawns and de-vein them. Cook in a little salted water till it is slightly hard or till you feel it is properly done.
    2. Remove and drain the excess water and chop into small pieces.
    3. Similarly, chop the onions and green chillies into tiny pieces.
    4. Mix all the ingredients, and add enough water to make a thick batter - of dropping consistency.
    5. Heat oil in a kadai and drop in spoonful of the batter to make pakodas.
    6. Remove when the pakodas turn golden brown.
    7. Serve hot with tomato sauce and mint chutney.
