Ingredients

  • 1 cup - peeled Prawns
  • small piece - Ginger
  • 6 flakes - Garlic
  • 1 tsp - cumin
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 1/2 cup - onions, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 2 tbsp - sambar powder
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 tbsp - Tamarind juice
  • 1/2 tsp - Jaggery
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Prawn Patias:

    1. Grind ginger, garlic and cumin together.
    2. Combine oil and onions, cook on hi for 3-4 minutes, stirring twice.
    3. Add the ground masala, cook 1 more minute. Add tomatoes, cook for 3 minutes.
    4. Add the prawns, cook covered for 3-4 minutes, stirring once.
    5. Add sambar powder, green chilies, salt and tamarind juice and jaggery (optional).
    6. Cook covered for 2 minutes. Serve with steamed rice, garnished with coriander leaves.
