Ingredients

  • 2 cups - raw rice (wash and soak for 20 minutes).
  • 1/2 kg - cleaned and de-veined prawns.
  • 1 cup - coconut milk.
  • 2 tbsp - ginger garlic paste.
  • 2 - onions, sliced finely.
  • 3 - green chillies, slit lengthwise.
  • 2 tbsp - chopped mint leaves.
  • 3 tbsp - chopped coriander leaves.
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder.
  • 1 tsp - all spice powder / garam masala powder.
  • 1/2 cup - oil or ghee.
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder.
  • Salt to taste.

How to Make Prawn Pilaf (Palau)

  • Wash the prawns and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a vessel and fry the onions till golden brown.
  • Add the ginger garlic paste, green chillies, mint, coriander leaves and saute for some time.
  • Add the chilli powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder, salt, prawns and mix well.
  • Cook for about 5 minutes on low heat.
  • Add the coconut milk and mix well.
  • Add 3 cups of water and bring to boil.
  • Add the rice and mix well.
  • Cook on low heat till the rice is cooked and all the water dries up.
  • Serve hot with prawn vindaloo and salad.
