Ingredients

  • 3 cup - cooked Rice
  • 1 cup - prawns, cleaned
  • 1/2 cup - onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup - Mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup - Coriander leaves
  • 4 Cloves Garlic
  • 4 to 6 Green chillies
  • 2 cm piece Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp - dry Mango powder
  • 3 tbsp - Ghee or oil
  • 3 Cardamom
  • 3 Cloves
  • 2 pieces Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powdermint and Coriander leaves
  • Fried Onion slices to garnish
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Prawn Rice:

    1. Grind all the ingredients from mint to mango powder together to a smooth paste.
    2. Heat the Ghee or oil in a non-stick Kadai or a deep fry pan.
    3. Add cardamom, cloves and cinnamon.
    4. Add onion and fry till golden brown.
    5. Add the fried paste, prawns and turmeric powder. Add salt to taste.
    6. Cover and leave on low heat till prawns are cooked.
    7. Add the rice, mix well and keep covered on low heat till heated through.
    8. Serve hot, garnished with mint and coriander leaves and fried onion slices, accompanied by a Raitha.
