  • 1/2 cup - puffed rice (poha), dry roasted and powdered
  • 2 potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed
  • 1/4 cup - groundnuts, dry roasted and powdered
  • 1 tsp - garam masala powder
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 6 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 inch ginger, finely chopped
  • Coriander and curry leaves, finely chopped
  • 2 cups - cornflakes, slightly crushed
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • For the batter:
  • Mix together (ensure that the batter is of thick consistency):
  • 2 tbsp - plain flour
  • pinch of salt
  • Water, as required

How to Make Puffed rice patties

  • Mix together all the ingredients, except cornflakes.
  • Divide the mixture into lemon-size patties of the mixture, dip each patty in the batter, and then roll it over the cornflakes.
  • Pat gently to ensure that the cornflakes stick to the patty and then deep fry in medium hot oil till golden brown.
