Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - puffed Rice (poha), dry roasted and powdered
  • 2 potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed
  • 1/4 cup - groundnuts, dry roasted and powdered
  • 1 tsp - Garam Masala powder
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 6 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 inch ginger, finely chopped
  • Coriander and curry leaves, finely chopped
  • 2 cups - cornflakes, slightly crushed
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • For the batter:
  • Mix together (ensure that the batter is of thick consistency):
  • 2 tbsp - plain flour
  • pinch of salt
  • Water, as required
  • How to Make Puffed rice patties:

    1. Mix together all the ingredients, except cornflakes.
    2. Divide the mixture into lemon-size patties of the mixture, dip each patty in the batter, and then roll it over the cornflakes.
    3. Pat gently to ensure that the cornflakes stick to the patty and then deep fry in medium hot oil till golden brown.
