  • 1/2 kg - Puffed rice.
  • green chillies.
  • 1/4 cup - Roasted Bengal gram.
  • Salt.
  • Curry leaves.
  • 4 tsp - oil.
  • 1 - Onion (Sliced thinly).
  • For seasoning:
  • Mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, turmeric.
  • How to Make Puffed rice Upma:

    1. Soak puffed rice in water and remove once tender.
    2. Grind roasted Bengal gram, chillies, and salt.
    3. Mix the powder to the puffed rice.
    4. Heat oil and add mustard seeds and urad dal.
    5. Add curry leaves after they cook and add some turmeric.
    6. Add onions and fry till reddish in colour.
    7. Add puffed rice. Mix and cover the pan for 5 mins and remove from heat.
    8. Serve hot.
