Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - tur daal
  • 1 bunch - Palak (250g)
  • 2 tbsp - Tamarind pulp
  • 1 pinch - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • 4-5 - crushed Red Chillies
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1 tsp - Fenugreek seeds
  • 5 - Curry leaves
  • 1/4th tsp - Hing
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Pulla Kura:

    1. Clean, wash and chop the palak leaves.
    2. Pressure cook toor dal.
    3. Heat oil in a pan and add mustards, methi seeds, red chillies, curry leaves and turmeric.
    4. Add palak and mix well.
    5. Saute for a minute.
    6. Pour tamarind water and salt in it and cook it for 5 minutes.
    7. Add some water while cooking.
    8. When the palak gets properly cooked, add dal and mix well.
    9. Add 1 cup of water to the mixture and cook for another 3 minutes.
    10. Add hing powder and mix well.
    11. Serve with rice.
