  • 4 cups - bread flour / all - purpose flour
  • 1 cup - Pumpkin puree
  • 2 tbsp - Poppy Seeds
  • 2 tsp - active Dry yeast
  • 1 cup - confectioners Sugar / powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 cup - Butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup - luke warm Milk
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • Egg yolk + water (to glaze)
  • Water, as required
  • How to Make Pumpkin Poppy seeds Buns:

    1. Add the active dry yeast, sugar and salt to the lukewarm milk and let this mixture sit for 5 minutes, until the yeast turns foamy.
    2. Now add the softened butter, confectioner's sugar, pumpkin puree, beaten egg, bread flour, poppy seeds and the foamy yeast mixture, and knead into a soft and smooth dough.
    3. Arrange this dough in a greased bowl and keep this bowl in a warm place for an hour with lid closed until the dough doubles in volume.
    4. After an hour, make 10-12 medium sized balls, knead well until the dough turns soft, and shape them into buns.
    5. Arrange them on a baking sheet lined over a baking tray. Let them sit again for an hour or until they double in volume.
    6. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
    7. Meanwhile brush the buns with egg yolk mixed with water. Bake them in middle rack of the oven for 25-30 minutes until the crust turns golden brown.
