1.5 cups coconut, very finely shredded
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt

How to Make Puran Karanji
Pressure cook channa dal till it's very soft. Mash it to make a paste. It should be a thick liquid.
Take a thick bottom vessel (preferably pressure cooker), heat it and add sugar.
As the sugar dissolves, add shredded coconut. Stir it for 2 to 3 minutes and keep it aside for cooling.
In the meantime, make a dough with the wheat flour using a little water, salt and a tsp of hot oil.
Roll out puris with the dough. On half portion of the puri, spread a tsp of the dal mixture. Fold.
Deep fry in oil.
