Ingredients

  • Aval - 1 cup
  • Potato - 1
  • Onion - 1
  • Green chilli - 2
  • Mustard Seed - 1 tsp
  • Urad Dal - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 5 tsp
  • Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry leaves - a few
  • How to Make Quick Aval Uppma:

    1. Soak aval in water for 5 mins.
    2. Chop onion, potato, green chilli.
    3. Put a kadai on stove. Add oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, onion, potato, chilli and curry leaves.
    4. Add one cup of water and cook thoroughly.
    5. Add salt to taste.
    6. Finally add the soaked aval to the kadai and mix it.
    7. If required sprinkle some water and cook covered for 5 mins.
