Ingredients

  • Aval - 1 cup
  • Potato - 1
  • Onion - 1
  • Green chilli - 2
  • Mustard seed - 1 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 5 tsp
  • Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry leaves - a few

How to Make Quick Aval Uppma

  • Soak aval in water for 5 mins.
  • Chop onion, potato, green chilli.
  • Put a kadai on stove. Add oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, onion, potato, chilli and curry leaves.
  • Add one cup of water and cook thoroughly.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Finally add the soaked aval to the kadai and mix it.
  • If required sprinkle some water and cook covered for 5 mins.
