How to Make Quick Avial

  • In a large deep vessel, boil 1 cup water with chilli and turmeric powders.
  • Add yam, potatoes, banana, drumsticks, snake gourd, string beans.
  • Cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Add cauliflower and onion, cook till tender but not mushy.
  • Add slit chillies, coconut paste, and simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Just before taking off fire, temper with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  • Serve hot with appams, parottas, rice or even bread.
