Ingredients

  • 5 bread slices
  • 3 tbsp - green chutney
  • oil for deep frying
  • For the Batter:
  • 1/2 cup - gram flour
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp - coriander leaves (finely chopped)
  • sufficient water to make the batter
  • a pinch cooking soda
  • salt to taste

How to Make Quick Bread Pakodas

  • For the Gram Flour Batter:
  • In a bowl mix together gram flour, cooking soda, salt, red chilli powder and coriander leaves.
  • Add sufficient water and make a little thick batter (sufficient to coat the bread slices).
  • For the Pakodas:
  • Evenly apply green chutney between two bread slices and cut diagonally into two.
  • Dip each piece in the gram flour mixture and deep fry on medium flame till golden.
  • Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
