Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp - tur dal
  • 2 tbsp - urad dal
  • 2 tbsp - moong dal
  • 2 tbsp - urad dal
  • 2 pieces - garlic
  • 1 tsp -cumin seeds (jeera)
  • a few - curry leaves
  • salt
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric
  • 1 inch - ginger piece, cut into small pieces
  • 1 -green chilli, slit into two
  • 2 tsp - ghee
  • chopped coriander leaves
  • juice of one lemon

How to Make Quick Dal

  • Pressure cook all the dal together. Remove and churn it using a buttermilk churner.
  • In a hard bottom medium pan, pour ghee, add cumin seeds, curry leaves, ginger, garlic and chilli pieces.
  • Add the cooked dal, salt and turmeric.
  • Cook till the dal starts to boil. Add water if the consistency is too thick.
  • Remove from flame and add chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice.
