Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp - tur dal
  • 2 tbsp - Urad Dal
  • 2 tbsp - moong dal
  • 2 tbsp - Urad Dal
  • 2 pieces - Garlic
  • 1 tsp -cumin seeds (jeera)
  • a few - Curry leaves
  • salt
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric
  • 1 inch - Ginger piece, cut into small pieces
  • 1 -green chilli, slit into two
  • 2 tsp - Ghee
  • chopped Coriander leaves
  • juice of one Lemon
  • How to Make Quick Dal:

    1. Pressure cook all the dal together. Remove and churn it using a buttermilk churner.
    2. In a hard bottom medium pan, pour ghee, add cumin seeds, curry leaves, ginger, garlic and chilli pieces.
    3. Add the cooked dal, salt and turmeric.
    4. Cook till the dal starts to boil. Add water if the consistency is too thick.
    5. Remove from flame and add chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice.
