Ingredients

  • 1 - Lemon (Big in size)
  • 1/4 tbsp - Turmeric Powder
  • 5 - Green Chillies
  • 1/4 inch - Ginger
  • 1 tbsp - Salt
  • 1.5 cup - Rice
  • For Seasoning:
  • 1/2 tbsp - Mustard
  • 1 tbsp - Channa Dal
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • Oil for seasoning

How to Make Quick n Easy Lemon Rice

  • Extract the juice from the lemon.
  • Add the turmeric powder and salt to the juice.
  • Cut the chillies and the ginger into small pieces.
  • Heat oil in pan.
  • Add mustard, channa dal and asafetida.
  • As the channa dal turns golden brown, add the lemon juice.
  • Allow to boil for 3 to 4 minutes and let it cool.
  • Boil the rice with less water so that the grains are separate from each other.
  • Add the prepared lemon syrup to the rice evenly and serve.
