Ingredients

  • Rice - 1.5 cup
  • Tomatoes - 2 medium sized chopped
  • Onions - 1 big chopped
  • Peas (optional)
  • Green chillies slit - 20
  • Rasam powder - 1.5 tsp
  • Channa dal - 1/2 tsp -
  • Urad dal - 1/2 tsp -
  • Mustard and jeera seeds - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tsp

How to Make Quick n Easy Tomato Bhath Sauteed

  • Cook the rice and cool and refrigerate for 10 mins so that each grain is separate.
  • Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard, jeera seeds and allow to splutter.
  • Now add channa dal and urad dal and add a pinch of turmeric followed by curry leaves.
  • Add chopped onions, tomatoes and green chillies.
  • After 2 mins of light frying, add salt to taste and a pinch of sugar.
  • Now when the onions and tomatoes are done, add the rasam powder and mix properly. Leave it on a low flame till the raw smell of the rasam powder is gone.
  • Now, add the cooled rice and mix properly and leave it on the cook top on a low flame for 5 mins.
  • Serve hot.
