Ingredients

  • 750 gm - prawns.
  • 12 - red chillies.
  • 5 - onions.
  • 10 flakes - garlic.
  • 2" piece - ginger, crushed.
  • 2 tsp - cumin seeds.
  • 12 - pepper corns.
  • 4 - green chillies, slit.
  • 4 tbsp - oil.
  • 1/2 cup - vinegar.
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder.
  • Salt.
  • How to Make Quick Prawn Balchao:

    1. Clean and de-vein the prawns.
    2. Marinate them with salt and turmeric powder. Keep aside.
    3. Grind red chillies, garlic, green chillies, cumin seeds and peppercorns in vinegar to a fine paste.
    4. In a kadai, heat oil and fry the ginger and onions till golden brown.
    5. Add the prawns and saute for 3-4 mins.
    6. Now add the ground masala and salt.
    7. Mix well and cook till tender.
