  • 1 pkt - vermicelli or semiya
  • 1 - small Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1- small Tomato (finely chopped)
  • 1/ cup - mixed vegetables (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 tbsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1 tbsp - sambar powder
  • 1 tbsp -jeera
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing

How to Make Quick Vermicelli Upma

  • Cook the mixed vegetables and keep aside.
  • In a pan or kadai, take a tsp of oil and fry the semiya till it turns golden brown in colour. Keep aside.
  • In the same kadai, take some more oil, add mustard seeds and jeera and let it pop.
  • Add the onion pieces and saute well.
  • Next add the tomatoes and fry for sometime.
  • Now add sambar powder, salt and cook till it becomes soft.
  • To this add the semiya along with a little water and cook till it becomes soft.
  • Finally add the mixed vegetables and give it a good stir.
  • Add the salt seasoning according to your taste.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
