Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - Quinoa (soaked for two hours)
  • 1/2 cup - Rice (soaked for two hours)
  • 1/2 cup - Jaggery syrup
  • 1tbsp - Oil
  • 1 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • 2 tbsp - Yellow moong dal (roasted)
  • 1/4 cup - Grated Coconut

How to Make Quinoa Sweet Kozhukattai

  • Grind the soaked rice and soaked quinoa with enough water into a fine paste.
  • Mix this ground paste and jaggery syrup with oil in a non-stick pan.
  • Cook on medium flame until this ground paste turns into a thick dough.
  • Add the cardamom powder, roasted moong dal and grated coconut. Mix everything well and keep aside. Let them cool completely.
  • Take a small ball from the dough and roll it with your fingers. Arrange the balls over a greased plate and steam cook for 10 minutes in an idly cooker.
  • Serve warm.
