  • 1 cup of boiled rice
  • 1 cup of sada rice
  • 1 cup of raagi (nachni)
  • 1 teaspoon of udad dal
  • 1 teaspoon of methi
  • 1 cup of grated coconut
  • 15 pieces of red chilles
  • 2 pieces of green chilles
  • 1/2 piece of ginger
  • 4-5 curry leaves
  • 1 spoon of asafoetida
  • 1/4 spoon of turmeric powder
  • 1/2 bunch of Coriander leaves
  • oil for cooking
  • salt acc. to taste

How to Make Raagi (Nachni) Adai

  • Soak the rice, udad dal, methi and raagi ( nachni) together for about 3 to 4 hrs. While grinding add the chilles, ginger, curry leaves,turmeric powder, coconut, and grind it softly.
  • Then add the salt and asafoetida at the end and mix well. Then cut the coriander and curry leaves and mix it with the batter.
  • Heat the tawa on medium high and spread the batter on the tawa ( like dosa) and shallow fry with edible oil. Serve adai hot with limboo achar or sambhar.
