Ingredients

  • 1 cup - red kidney beans, soaked overnight
  • 1/2 cup - paneer, grated
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp - ginger, grated
  • 2 - green chillies, chopped
  • 1 tsp - Fennel seed powder
  • 2 tbsp - coconut, grated
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - Coriander leaves
  • 1/4 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp - black gram
  • 1 - dry Red Chilli
  • 1/4 tsp - Chickpea
  • Salt to taste.
  • Oil as required
  • How to Make Rajma Paneer Podimass:

    1. Pressure cook red kidney beans with 1/4 tsp of salt and let it whistle thrice.
    2. Strain the cooked water and smash the cooked red kidney bean with your finger.
    3. Heat oil and splutter mustard seeds, black gram, chickpea and red chilli.
    4. Add the onion, green chilli pieces, ginger and turmeric powder and cook till onion turn translucent.
    5. Now add the smashed red kidney beans with enough salt and stir them continuously to blend well with the onions.
    6. Simmer for a while.
    7. Finally add the grated paneer and grated coconut to the red kidney beans and stir occasionally to help the ingredients blend well.
    8. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
