Ingredients

  • 1 cup - white rava
  • 2 tsp - grated fresh coconut
  • salt
  • Luke warm water
  • For seasoning
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp - urad dal
  • 5 - curry leaves
  • A pinch - hing
  • 2 tsp - oil
  • 4 - red chillies
  • For garnishing
  • Chopped cilantro
  • 1 tsp - grated fresh coconut

How to Make rava Kollakattai

  • Mix rava, coconut and salt in lukewarm water. The consistency of the mixture should be slightly thick. Let it sit for 15 mins.
  • Then make small balls.
  • Steam these balls like idlies in a greased vessel.
  • Cook it for 20 mins, later cool it for a while
  • Add 2 tsp of oil in the pan.
  • To this add mustard seeds, urad dal, red chillies, curry leaves, hing and add all the rava balls and mix all together.
  • Finally garnish with chopped cilantro.
