  • Raw banana -3
  • Turmeric powder-1tsp
  • Salt-to taste
  • Oil-3 tsp
  • Mustard seed-1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves-5 to 6
  • Red Chilli powder-1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
  • Garlic-2 pods
  • How to Make Raw Banana Thoran:

    1. Peel the raw banana and cut it into very small square pieces. Soak it in 3 cups of water with 1/2 tsp turmeric powder for 5 minutes.
    2. Grind the coconut with cumin seeds, garlic and chilli powder coarsely. Keep it aside.
    3. Pour 3 tsp oil in a hot griddle, put mustard seeds and allow it to splutter, put the curry leaves.
    4. Drain the water from the banana pieces, Add the banana pieces to the griddle, Add the remaining turmeric powder and salt, keep on stirring continuously for 5 to 10 min.
    5. Add the coconut mixture to the fried banana, keep on stirring till the water evaporates.
    6. Take away from flame. Serve with plain Rice.
