Ingredients

  • 1 cup - whole Wheat Rawa
  • 1/2 cup - green gram (moong) dal, washed and drained
  • 4 tsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp - black pepper corns, crushed
  • a pinch - Asafoetida (hing)
  • 4 cups - water
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • How to Make Rawa Milagu Pongal:

    1. Place the rawa and dal in a deep non-stick pan.
    2. Heat oil in a small seasoning ladle and add cumin, pepper and asafoetida.
    3. Fry for 15-20 seconds and add to the rawa.
    4. Add water and salt. Bring to a boil.
    5. Cover and leave on a low flame till the rawa and dal are cooked.
    6. Serve hot with mint or tomato chutney.
