  • 1 kg - Beef steak
  • 1/2 tsp - Pepper Corns
  • 1 tsp- Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp - Thyme leaves, minced
  • 2 tbsp - Cooking oil.
  • How to Make Ren's Pan-Broiled Steak::

    1. Pat the steak dry and coat one side with half the pepper and half the thyme and pat all the seasonings into the meat.
    2. Now coat a plate with 1 tbsp of the oil and place the steak, seasoned side down, on it. Then pat the remaining pepper and thyme on the other side.
    3. Coat it lightly with the remaining oil.
    4. Now set it aside for 30 minutes.
    5. Meanwhile, use a paper towel to lightly coat the surface of a ridged or plain cast-iron skillet with oil.
    6. Heat the pan until the oil coating begins to smoke. Then place the steak in it and cook until its seared and nicely browned on one side, for about 5 minutes.
    7. Now turn the steak and cook the other side for 5 minutes for rare or 6 minutes for medium.
    8. Then transfer the steak onto a cutting board and let it rest for five minutes.
    9. Carve the steak into one half inch thick slices and serve.
