  • 3 cups - besan
  • 1 cup - Rice flour
  • 4 tsp - margarine or Butter
  • Salt - to taste
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - Hing powder (asafoetida)
  • Oil - 4 tbsp

How to Make Ribbon Pakoda

  • In a mixing bowl, add the besan, rice flour, chilli powder, margarine and the salt.
  • Add water little by little to make a medium consistency dough.
  • Take the ribbon pakoda press and fill it up.
  • Heat the oil and when it is hot, press the dough into the hot oil.
  • Fry it till it is light golden in colour. Remove from the oil when the hissing sound ceases.
  • Remove, and drain it on to a kitchen paper towel.
  • Store it in a dry airtight container.
