  • 3 cups - besan
  • 1 cup - Rice flour
  • 4 tsp - margarine or Butter
  • Salt - to taste
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - Hing powder (asafoetida)
  • Oil - 4 tbsp
  • How to Make Ribbon Pakoda:

    1. In a mixing bowl, add the besan, rice flour, chilli powder, margarine and the salt.
    2. Add water little by little to make a medium consistency dough.
    3. Take the ribbon pakoda press and fill it up.
    4. Heat the oil and when it is hot, press the dough into the hot oil.
    5. Fry it till it is light golden in colour. Remove from the oil when the hissing sound ceases.
    6. Remove, and drain it on to a kitchen paper towel.
    7. Store it in a dry airtight container.
