  • 100 g - Basmati rice or any other long grained rice washed and drained
  • 3 tbsp - unsalted butter or ghee
  • 1 litre - milk
  • 2 small pieces cinnamon
  • 4 cloves
  • 3 tbsp - soft brown sugar
  • 100 g - raisins
  • 1 tsp - vanilla essence

How to Make Rice And Raisin Pudding

  • Heat milk in a pan and bring to boil.
  • Remove from heat then drop in the cinnamon and cloves.
  • Mix in the brown sugar.
  • Add the rice, raisins, vanilla essence and butter/ghee and mix well.
  • Transfer to a baking dish and dot the top with a little butter.
  • Bake in a moderate oven for 1 hour or till the rice is cooked and the pudding is set.
  • Serve with ice cream.
