  • Raw Rice - 1 cup
  • Parboiled Rice - 1 cup
  • Grated Coconut - 2 cup
  • Salt - to taste

How to Make Rice Bhakri

  • Soak both the rice together for 4-6 hours. Drain.
  • Add grated coconut and salt to rice and grind to a soft paste-like batter.
  • Heat a dosa pan (preferably a non-stick). Lower the flame.
  • Dip your hand in a bowl of water and lift out a handful of dough.
  • Pour it on the tawa, and with moist fingers, flatten the dough to about 1 cm thick disc (your fingers must touch only the dough and not the tawa).
  • Pour some oil or ghee all round it and cook on moderate heat.
  • When the underside is cooked, turn the bhakri over.
  • Add some more ghee or oil and cook the other side.
  • Serve hot or cold with a blob of butter and/or honey or trickle.
