  • 2.5 cups - tender ridge gourd.
  • 1 cup - chopped onions
  • 50 ml - whole milk
  • 2 tbsp - roasted white sesame seed powder
  • 4 - green chillies
  • 1 - sprig curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp - mustard
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp - oil

How to Make Ridge gourd curry with milk and sesame seeds

  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard, cumin, curry leaves and green chillies, allow them to splutter, add onions and fry till they turn pink
  • Add the ridge gourd pieces, turmeric and salt, saute for a minute
  • Cook with the lid closed till the ridge gourd is done.
  • When done add sesame seed powder and saute well for 2 mins
  • Pour the milk and gently mix the curry and switch off the flame. Do not cook for more than 1 min after adding the milk.
